Ramana Akshaya Feeding Program

The Ramana Akshaya Feeding Program, under which 30 elders and those who are physically challenged (identified by the respective grama sevakas) are benefitting, was launched on 13th July, 2022, the Guru Purnima day. The recipients were invited Ramanalayam to receive their twice weekly Food Rations on the day. This program was initiated due to the severe economic hardship faced by the population as a result of the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka. The people receiving the dry rations are from the vicinity of the Ashram and they are recently resettled after the prolonged war that affected the country.

The Grama Sevaka (Government appointed Village Officer) of division J/239 Mr Balendran was present at the launch and helped distribute the Food Rations for this week. The Ashram is committed to continue distribution to the identified recipients for a period of one year. Donors from USA, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka have generously supported this program.
